Cathy Fleming

Cathy Fleming has been a trusted advisor to corporations, their boards, and individuals for more than  35 years. Her varied experience, including as a former federal prosecutor, enables her to counsel and represent boards and committees of both public and private companies, as well as provide valuable financial and management insight. Experienced in crisis management, she has performed a multitude of roles including spearheading internal investigations. A trial lawyer, Cathy has tried more than 50 cases to verdict, most of which have been in federal courts. Her practice focuses on white collar crime and complex commercial litigation.

Cathy is a refugee from “Big Law.” Most recently, she was a partner at Hodgson Russ, LLP, where she served both as Managing Partner of the New York City office and as Chair of the Tax Investigation and Defense Group. She also chaired the white collar department of Edwards & Angell LLP.

She has served on not-for-profit boards, including as president. She  has been a manager in law firms with budget, P&L, and personnel oversight. Cathy regularly teaches courses related to ethics, fraud and trial skills.

An outspoken advocate for diversity of women, Cathy is a former President of the National Association of Women Lawyers, and was a founding member of the Foundation board.
